Wei-ling Louie is the Assistance League of Fullerton's ADA Award recipient for 2010. She demonstrates the spirit of Assistance League membership by her participation in all of our activities from fundraising to hands-on help with the children of the community we serve. Wei-ling is active in the Fullerton Community with her participation in Fullerton Interfaith Emergency Services.
The ADA Award is given to those in the organization who serve behind the scenes without recognition. Wei-ling characterizes that personality trait. She joined the Assistance League in 1993. She has served tirelessly in many capacities from chairing our Vision Screening and Referral Program, Santa's Closet and most recently as Education chairman.
Wei-ling was raised in Northern California. She worked her way through college at University of California at Berkeley and earned a degree in Boatany. She is active in her church locally and recently led her church in providing relief for the victims of the earthquake in Haiti.
She taught grade school early in her career. She has always been a supportive and involved parent. She was active in the PTA, Team Mom for soccer. She even helped her kids fold newspapers and deliver them on rainy days.
She now teaches cooking with the Downey ROP. Her classes are always in demand. Her favorite is her Chinese Cookery class. She has also published a cookbook.
Next year, Wei-ling has been elected Orientation Chairman. We are so lucky to have her as a member! Congratulations, Wei-ling!
